ARCHITECTURE COMMUNICATIONS: CYCLE 3 EXPERIMENTAL MODELLING

WEEK 2:

We were asked to read and choose a reading from four that appealed to us and then choose an architect from a list. From this we were asked to make a model that explored those ideas.

I ended up choosing "The Visible and the Invisible" by Maurice Merleau-Ponty and Daniel Leibskind's Jewish Museum.

The text explored the idea of a breakdown of the senses and perspective where the different types of perception can be broken down to just one form. I used this idea in my model where it starts off as a recognisable cube shape but is then gradually broken down as you move along the sides, until it completely breaks down into a multitude of perception and perspectives.
